Well So Much for Stash Busting.

I started stash busting last week. This week a friend (Connie) calls and says that her Aunts neighbor past away and the family is looking for someone to come clean out her sewing room. After the Aunt, 2 cousins, and Connie got what they wanted, They asked me What i wanted. I picked out 4-5 nice pieces and they said they guess they would just bag up the rest and throw it away. NOOOOOOOO! I brought home 4 LARGE garbage bags of Nice cotton fabric. Most of it in 2 yard pieces some as much as 6 yards. There is 1 grocery sac of scrap 6 in minimum- to fat quarter size.

SO I guess I really got to start stash busting now.

Stash busting

Well I am not part of the OFFICAL stash busting group. Mainly because I did not realize I had so much stash until a couple of Months ago. After all I have only been quilting a little over a year. How much fabric can you accumulate it 1 year???

2 bookcases and 3 large rubber maid containers 13x24x18, as well as 4 or five smaller plastic containers. But I need to stash bust, So I am starting this week. 00 yards in 6.5 yards out So far so good

Starts and finishes

Well I finished the top of the pink and purple quilt below. Changed up the borders, but the top is finished. It was nice enough that I took it to Becky (my long-arm quilter). Most of my smaller quilts I attempt to quilt myself. but if it is nice I go ahead and have it professionally quilted.

Started a new quilt it is  Black and white and red in a very simple strip design. I will show off what I have done on Monday.

Have a super day,

Today was a great day!

The storms are over (for now) the lights are back on and the house took some hail damage in the  siding and roof, but after looking around the neighborhood, I realized I was blessed. Some of my neighbors lost a lot more.

On a happier note  we had a squadron picnic at work today, I thought I would be board but the Music was GREAT! mostly oldies with some country mixed in.

Storms, allergies and general craziness

Today was Fun  NOT!! This last week half of our employees at work have been sick or TDY or on vacation. so it has been fun. but today took the cake. First off We are down to (6) half staff (out out of 13) When Denny the Acting supervisor calls in sick, then Connie calls that she has to take her mom to the Dr. The painters came to paint our walls. giving me a splitting headache. then Just as Connie comes in about 2pm, They start shaking a can of paint. Did I mention I am asthmatic and airisal sets me off? I had to go home. I take a pain pill that knocks me out and wake up to tornado sirens and hail, the lights go out and the tree in the back yard left half of its limbs on my garage roof.

Heres praying tomorrow is a great day.
