I Give Up

I just cannot do it when nice people donate to my cause. Over the last 3 weeks 2 friends donated approximately 22 yards of fabric to my ministry, then I was offered 3 (6) yard bolts of blenders for cost, $2.42 a yard. and another friend went to a quilters estate auction. and came back with 10-12 yard bundles of NICE fabric for $4.00 a bundle. I am not sure of the total yardage, but in the last 3 weeks, I have got to have added at least 140 yards to my stash.

On top of that I have been sick and nothing used. I did donate some of the fabric to a Friend and some more to be sent to make backings for charities quilts. But I kept way to much.

If I only counted fabric I bought in a real store, over the last 4 months, I would still be in the black.

I will still acknowledge on here what I use and what comes in, but no sense trying to keep track of actual numbers, I would never make it out of the red.

Feeling Good

Well It is strange but I am feeling better than I have in months. Do not know How long I will be able to stay on the treatment. but hay I feel GOOD!

I went to see the surgeon on Wed and he looked at my charts, and said no way was he cutting into me. My stomach is too inflamed. So he put me on Carafate, full liquids and supplements, Yesterday I was weak as a kitten and still in pain. Today next to no pain and feeling good. I do not know how long I can stay on this diet but hey for now It feels like I could stay on it forever.

Hi All!

Sorry it has been awhile sense I checked in. but my life has been crazy as usual. Between Being out of town TDY and grad school and I have been real tired and hurting in the stomach, life around here is streeeeesssssed. I have had the pain for a while now so had some tests run this last week.

Good News! It is not Cancer. YEAH! That was a serious concern, considering my family history.

Bad news! I have a bad Stricture, Large Ulcer and a hernia. Dr says the stricture and ulcer have to be cut out and what the hey they can fix the hernia while they are at it. Basically he said they have to cut my stomach and colon apart, cut off the bad stuff, then reattach.

Sounds like fun, Ha HA!

If you compare the data from last week with the data from this week you will see they just do not add up. I found an error on my spreadsheet and these should be the correct numbers.

I had an extra special thing happen this week, In all of the quilts I have donated (24 in the last year and a half) Only once was I ever been thanked by the recipient themselves. usually I get a thank you letter from the organization with a tax slip. But this week I received a picture of 3 girls wrapped in their quilts and a letter from each of them and from the foster mom. Thanking me for the quilts I made for Megan Paige and Bailey. They where so very special. May god bless each of them threw their lives.

QOV MEETING

Well we had our first QOV meeting, and it went great. we only had 6 people show up but that is a good turnout for a first meeting. We just sat around and talked the cut a few kits for Home of the Brave projects.

Design Wall Monday

This is going to be a baby quilt for my neighbor upstairs, she is due in late May. This is by far my favorite pattern for baby quilts. Fast and very easy.
